December 26, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 11100 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 12:35 a.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 25).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 44, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Young reported:

The victim was driving a red Toyota Camry eastbound on the West Sam Houston Parkway service road when she ran the red light at the intersection with the 11100 block of the Southwest Freeway feeder road. Her vehicle struck a red Toyota Tundra that had a green light as it traveled north on the Southwest Freeway feeder road.

The female was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. No other persons were injured in the accident.
