December 23, 2013 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 5711 Vendi about 4:40 p.m. last Friday (Dec. 20).

The suspect, Gustavo Andres Vasquez (H/m, DOB: 10-17-79), is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his wife, Agnes Vasquez, 31.

A second suspect HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Robles and Officer L. Bailey reported:

Officers responded to a disturbance and welfare check call at the above address and knocked on the door. The suspect opened the door, pointed a shotgun at officers and then barricaded himself inside the residence. After several verbal commands from officers, the suspect emerged from the residence and was taken into custody without further incident. Officers entered the residence and found Mrs. Vasquez deceased with multiple gunshot wounds.
