December 2, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 21800 block of the Katy Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) that occurred about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 1).

The identity of the male victim, 23, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer B. Collins reported:

The victim was driving a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck eastbound on the Katy Freeway when for unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle and struck the concrete barrier. The victim was partially ejected and died at the scene. The vehicle continued moving forward approximately one quarter of a mile before it stopped. No other persons nor vehicles were involved in this accident.
