December 2, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2500 South Freeway (South State Highway 288) about 8:20 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 1).

The male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer S. Tran reported:

The victim was operating a white Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound on the South Freeway and failed to stay in a single lane. The motorcycle then struck the rear of a white Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck. The victim was ejected and died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
