August 22, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4600 Almeda Genoa about 10 a.m. today.

The identity of the female victim, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Francois and Officer C. Long reported:

An 18-wheeler was traveling east on Almeda Genoa when it struck a gold Nissan Altima that pulled in front of the truck from a private drive. Paramedics pronounced the female driver of the Nissan dead at the scene. The truck driver was interviewed and did not exhibit any signs of intoxication. He was released without charges.

The investigation is continuing.
