Surveillance Video, Photos of Wanted Suspect in Robbery at 9652 Beechnut
April 30, 2013 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in a robbery at 9652 Beechnut about 2:50 p.m. on January 3.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 23 to 25 years of age, about 5 feet 2 to 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160 pounds with black hair. He was wearing a red T-shirt, black baseball cap and a blue jean jacket. Surveillance video of the suspect can be viewed at the HPD YouTube Channel at https://youtu.be/Wu13YH6LGrs. Investigators are also seeking a person of interest in this case, described only as a Hispanic male dressed in all black. The person of interest appears in the surveillance video at the 00:00 to 00:10 mark.
The suspect entered the La Hacienda meat market at 9652 Beechnut. He loitered around the store until several customers inside had left. Once the business was fairly empty, the suspect approached the front counter, confronted the employee and, at gunpoint, demanded money from the cash registers. The suspect then exited the store, got into a brown minivan of unknown make or model and fled the scene.
