April 5, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 8300 block of North Houston-Rosslyn about 3:40 a.m. today.

The male victim, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Tapia and Officer K. Heaverlo reported:

The victim was driving a black Nissan Altima at a high rate of speed southbound on North Houston-Rosslyn and failed to stay in his lane. The Nissan then crossed a median into oncoming traffic and struck a utility pole at the intersection of 6500 West Little York. The victim died on impact.

No other vehicles were involved in this accident.
