September 10, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4700 South Kirkwood about 2:50 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 9).

The identity of the victim, who died at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. Martinez and S. Straughter reported:

Tenants at an apartment complex at the above location heard a gunshot and went outside to investigate.  They found the victim lying on the sidewalk.  HFD paramedics were then called to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

At this time, there are no known suspects.
