November 19, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 13502 Northborough about 10 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 16).

The identitity of the victim, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Senior Police Officer C. Abbey reported:

The victim was standing in a crowd gathered around two women fighting in the court yard of the apartment complex at the above address.  During the fight, an unknown black male suspect pulled a gun and fired at the victim as he stood in the court yard.  The victim was struck at least one time and was transported by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died.   

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.  The two women involved in the fight sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
