May 22, 2012 - A man critically injured in a traffic accident on the West Beltway 8 at Hammerly about 8:25 a.m. on May 13 has died from his injuries.
The victim, Relva McCarty, 91, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and then on to Kindred Hospital where he was pronounced dead on May 17.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Francois and Officer R. Davidson reported:
The driver of a white Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on Hammerly as the driver of a Mercury Mariner was traveling northbound on Beltway 8 (West Sam Houston Parkway service road). Both vehicles entered the intersection and collided. A passenger (Mr. McCarty) in the Mercury was transported to the hospital. The drivers of both vehicle were found at-fault in the accident.
