Update: Suspect Arrested in Sexual Assault Investigation
June 19, 2012 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the sexual assault of three females in southwest Houston in the last month.
Sedric Lynn Johnson (b/m, DOB: 8-4-91) is charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault and four counts of aggravated robbery in the 339th State District Court. A photo of suspect Johnson is attached to this news release.
The incidents occurred at the following locations:
- May 20, 2:50 a.m. - 10225 Bissonnet - The Mills Apartments
- May 27, 9:35 p.m. - 10225 Bissonnet - The Mills Apartments
- June 3, 12:30 a.m. - 9803 West Sam Houston Parkway - The Mills Apartments
In all three incidents, the armed suspect (Johnson) forced his victims at gunpoint into a vacant apartment where he sexually assaulted them. In at least one of the incidents, Johnson fired a weapon into the air.
Further investigation developed information that identified Johnson as a suspect in this case. On Saturday (June 16) Johnson was arrested without incident.
At 2 p.m. TODAY (June 19) investigators with the Houston Police Department's Special Crimes Division will be available to answer questions regarding the investigation. The briefing will be held in the first floor media briefing room at HPD Headquarters, 1200 Travis.
