June 11, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2929 Allen Parkway about 5:50 p.m. last Friday (June 8).

The male victim, 27, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identify is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer T. White reported:

The victim and a friend were on the fifth floor of a parking garage at the above location where the friend was teaching the victim how to operate a motorcycle. As the friend walked alongside the victim on the moving motorcycle, the friend told the victim to apply the brakes. The friend said the victim accidentally hit the accelerator. The motorcyle then struck a wall in the garage, ejecting the victim over the wall. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
