July 24, 2012 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results of a man found deceased following a fire at a residence at 5222 Lamonte Drive about 12:15 a.m. today (July 24).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers J. Villareal and T. Andrade reported:

Houston firefighters responded to a house fire at the above address.  After extinguishing the fire, they found a man deceased in a rear room. 

Homicide and HFD arson investigators were called to the scene.  The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.  The homicide investigation is pending results of an autopsy to determine the man's cause of death.
