August 27, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 5600 block of Scott Street about 10:05 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 25).

The male victim, 59, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Acevedo and Officer D. Kizzee reported:

The victim was riding a bicycle and attempted to cross Scott Street when he was struck by a beige Buick LeSabre traveling northbound on Scott. The female driver of the Buick, 77, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.

Further investigation determined the victim was at-fault in the accident.
