August 20, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4900 Allison Road about 9 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 19).

The victim, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Tapia and Officer K. Nichols reported:

The male victim was driving a silver Nissan Altima westbound on Allison Road at a high rate of speed. At some point, he lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a ditch and then struck a utility pole.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
