October 3, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 16200 Park Row about 4 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 2).

The male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Thomas and Officer K. Hines reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was driving a white Nissan Sentra westbound on Park Row and weaving in and out of oncoming traffic. The Sentra then struck a black Ford Explorer head on in the eastbound lanes of Park Row. The victim died at the scene and the 22-year-old male driver of the Explorer was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition.

The investigation is continuing.
