October 3, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto/pedestrian traffic accident at 11900 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 2:25 a.m. today.

The male victim, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer J. Morales reported:

A witness told police the victim was seen running from a business parking lot at 11927 East Freeway into the westbound lanes of the service road. The male had crossed to the far left lane when he was struck by a green pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck, unknown make and model, did not stop and continued westbound on the feeder road.
