November 21, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident on North State Highway 6 at Pine Forest about 8:05 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 20).

The identities of the two deceased victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Shaw and Officer E. Rubio reported:

A black Chevrolet Monte Carlo was traveling south on State Highway 6 and a white Honda Accord was traveling east on Pine Forest.  The Accord entered the intersection and was struck by the Monte Carlo, which continued into the northbound lanes of State Highway 6 and struck a third vehicle, a white Nissan Sentra.

The driver of the Accord died at the scene and the passenger in the Monte Carlo died at an area hospital.  Persons inside the Sentra were treated at an area hospital for minor injuries.

At this time, it has not been determined whether the Monte Carlo or Accord ran the red light.  No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
