November 17, 2011 - Houston Police Chief Charles A. McClelland Jr. today (Nov. 17) joined six of the largest retailers in the city who comprise the Greater Houston Loss Prevention Alliance (GHLPA) in announcing the kick off of the third annual "Safe Shopping Starts with YOU" holiday safety campaign.

The "Safe Shopping Starts with YOU" campaign will host four media events at various retail stores in the next four weeks.  The first event will focus on burglary of motor vehicle (BMV) prevention, the second on distraction thefts of purses and wallets in the stores, the third on personal safety in parking lots and the fourth on identity theft.
