HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Ashford reported:
Alcocer, with her adult brother (victim) and her two children as passengers, was driving a white Chevrolet Tahoe at a high rate of speed northbound on Yale. For an unknown reason, the Tahoe started skidding and went into a ditch on the east side of the street. The Tahoe then flipped and rolled several times before coming to a stop on the southeast corner of Yale and Patrick Street. Alcocer and her brother were ejected from the Tahoe. The brother died at the scene. The two children, a 3-year-old and a 9-month-old, who were in child seats not secured by seat belts, landed on the roof of the Tahoe after the vehicle came to a stop on its roof. Alcocer and her children were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Alcocer was then taken into custody.
