May 9, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 13500 Northwest Freeway (U.S. 290) about 3 a.m. on Saturday (May 7).

The identity of the male victim, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Park and Officer T. Carter reported:

The victim was operating a black and gray Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed and changing from lane to lane as he traveled westbound on the Northwest Freeway.  A red Dodge Durango was stalled and disabled in the far left lane.  As the motorcyclist continued changing lanes, he could not control his speed and struck the Durango and then a concrete barrier.
