May 9, 2011 - Houston police are awaiting autospy results in the death of an elderly man found at 600 East Tidwell #601 about 8 a.m. on Sunday (May 8).

The identity of the victim, 66, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Brooks and C. Cegielski reported:

One of the victim's friends went to check on him at the elderly living facility at the above location after she had not heard from him.  She found him unresponsive on the floor and saw blood.  She called 911 and responding paramedics pronounced the man dead.  Homicide investigators were called to the scene, as there were signs of a struggle.  Investigators are awaiting the cause of death.
