Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5100 Mallow

June 21, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5100 Mallow about 11 a.m. on Monday (June 20).

The victim, Torrence Demond Haywood, 18, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Divison Sergeant M. McStravick and Senior Police Officer P. Vela reported:

Mr. Haywood and an unknown suspect were involved in a verbal dispute when the suspect pulled a weapon and shot Haywood. Haywood was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect is described only as a black male.

Investigators want to identify and speak with a witness seen driving a light blue Ford Crown Victoria with paper plates.
