Suspects Arrested, Charged in 2009 Fatal Stabbing Case
June 13, 2011 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman found at 5000 Briscoe Street in June 2009.
One suspect, James Bishop (b/m, DOB: 6-10-80), is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. Another suspect, Ejjetta Williams (b/f, DOB: 4-8-92), is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. Both are charged in the killing of Undra Williams, 40 of Houston. Ms. Williams suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mug shots of both suspects are attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant O. Chandler and Officer R. Figueroa reported:
On June 25, 2009, Undra Williams was found deceased and lying in a wooded vacant residential lot on a dead-end street. She was partially clothed and in a late state of decomposition. At that time, her cause of death had not been determined.
An investigation determined Ms. Williams had been stabbed while she slept at her residence at 5022 Longmeadow on June 14. Her body was left in a vacant field at 5000 Briscoe. At that time, all possible leads in the investigation were exhausted.
The investigation was reopened and investigators developed information that identified Ejjetta Williams (the victim's daughter) and Bishop as suspects in this case. Bishop was arrested in February 2011 on an unrelated charge and remains in custody. Williams was arrested on Friday (June 10) without incident.
