Investigation into Body Found at 12155 West Lake Houston Parkway


January 11, 2011 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found at 12155 West Lake Houston Parkway about 7:45 a.m. on Monday (Jan. 10).

The elderly female suffered no visible signs of injury and her cause of death and identity is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.L. Meeler and Officer J.L. French reported:

Last Saturday (Jan. 8), family members of Dora Edmonson, 87,  reported her missing when she failed to return home from a local bank.  Ms. Edmonson was last seen in a green 1997 Ford Escort withTexas license plates 605DZC.

Early Monday morning, construction inspectors reported finding Ms. Edmonson's vehicle partially submerged in the drainage ditch near the 12100 block of West Lake Houston Parkway.  Responding Harris County Sheriff's deputies, along with members of the Humble Independent School District Police Department, discovered the body of an elderly female partially submerged in the drainage waters within walking distance of Ms. Edmonson's vehicle.

Officers with HPD's Missing Persons Unit, Dive Team and Homicide Division made the scene and recovered the elderly female's body.

The investigation is continuing.
