January 4, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4400 block of North Eldridge Parkway about 11:35 a.m. today (Jan. 4).

The identity of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G.Hall and Senior Police Officer R. Tallent reported:

The victim was driving a black Ford-500 sedan northbound on Eldridge Parkway when for unknown reasons he crossed the center line into the southbound lanes and was struck by a green Nissan Frontier pickup truck.  The victim was ejected from the Ford and died at the scene. The Ford was then struck by a silver Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, also traveling southbound on Eldridge.

The investigation is continuing.
