February 14, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10400 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 14).

The male victim, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verfication by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer J. Gaona reported:

The victim was driving a blue Honda Accord westbound on the Southwest Freeway when he exited onto the service road near Beltway 8. While exiting, the victim lost control of his vehicle, causing it to slip and overturn, ejecting the driver and a rear-seat passenger. The driver died at the scene. Two female passengers were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with minor injuries.
