February 14, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10200 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 6:20 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 12).

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer L. Ho reported:

The victim was travelling northbound at a high rate of speed on the North Freeway service road when he lost control of the silver Chevrolet Malibu, left the roadway, and struck the base of a freeway light. The driver died at the scene. No one else was involved in this accident.
