Update: Composite Sketches Released in Fatal Shooting at 8730 North Houston Rosslyn


February 8, 2011 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 8370 North Houston Rosslyn about 3:20 a.m. on Jan. 31.


The suspects are described only as two Hispanic males. The shooter is in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, 250 pounds with a distinctive large scar on his inner left forearm. The other suspect is in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. Composite sketches of both suspects are attached to this news release.

The victim, Luis Arturo Martinez, 22, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Tolls, C. Cegielski, J. Brooks and Officer T. Andrade reported:

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the La Pantera Bar at the above location and found Mr. Martinez deceased inside the business. Further investigation determined there had been an argument between two groups and Martinez, a security guard at the bar, went inside to investigate. At some point, shots were fired and Martinez was struck and died at the scene.
