February 7, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6600 block of Homestead about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 6).

The female victim, 42, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Ashford reported:

The victim was driving a white Dodge Durango at a high rate of speed, northbound on Homestead. As she crossed an overpass, she lost control of the vehicle and hit a curb on the east side of the road. The Durango rolled at least one time and the victim was ejected.
