December 14, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 12700 block of the Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 2:25 a.m. today.

The male victim, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:

The victim was operating a yellow Suzuki motorcycle westbound on the Northwest Freeway near Pinemont at a high rate of speed when he struck the back of a black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. The victim fell off the motorcycle and was struck by a maroon Chevrolet Impala. The victim died at the scene. No other persons were injured.

The investigation is continuing.
