December 1, 2011 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results of skeletal remains found at 5005 Neches about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 30).

The identity of the unknown remains, believed to be of a female, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer K. Carr reported:

A crew hired to clear vegitation from a vacant lot at the above location found partial skeletal remains in the lot. HFD emergency personnel responded to the scene and confirmed the remains were human.

The case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division and is pending the victim's cause of death.
