August 29, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4700 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 6 p.m. last Friday (Aug. 26).

The male victim, 28, of Shreveport, LA, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Stewart and Officer C. Tosso reported:

The victim was operating a gold Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle while southbound in the HOV lane of the Southwest Freeway when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck an exterior wall. The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and fell onto a green Toyota Camry traveling northbound in the lower freeway main lanes. The motorcyclist died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was treated for minor injuries.
