August 24, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 3400 block of the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 23).

The male victim, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was operating a red Harley Davidson motorcycle on the North Freeway exit ramp to the 610 North Loop. The motorcycle then veered quickly to the right to take the exit to the Loop 610 East and hit a center median. The motorcycle then flipped and the victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected and died at the scene.
