August 22, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 15200 Space Center Boulevard about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 20).

The identity of the female victim, 63, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Ashford reported:

The victim was driving a white Toyota Sequoia north on Space Center Blvd. when the vehicle hit a curb, crossed both northbound lanes and went into a grassy median. The Toyota then hit a manhole cover, a bridge retaining wall and then flipped over into the southbound lanes of Space Center Blvd. Paramedics pronounced the female driver dead at the scene. There were no other persons in the vehicle nor other vehicles involved in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
