September 30, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1100 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 12:30 a.m. today (Sept. 30).

The male victim, 31, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:

The victim was operating a white Yamaha motorcycle on the entrance ramp to the Eastex Freeway when he lost control of the motorcycle and hit the guardrail.  A witness told police the motorcyclist then fell from the overpass and landed in the main lanes of the East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10).
