Investigation into Woman’s Death at 6 Burress
September 15, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the death of a woman at 6 Burress about 3 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 15).
The victim, 60, of the above address, was pronounced dead at scene due to apparent strangulation. An autopsy to determine her cause of death will be performed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Her identity is pending notification to family members.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Senior Police Officer C. Abbondandolo reported:
The victim’s caretaker arrived Wednesday afternoon to assist the victim with her medical needs and discovered her deceased inside her apartment. The victim had lived in the complex for some time and required help getting in and out of her bed.
Robbery is believed to be the motive in this case.
