Fatal Traffic Accident at 6700 Airport Boulevard

September 15, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6700 block of Airport Boulevard about 4 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 14).

The male victim, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. E. Vorpe and Senior Police Officer J. Mushinski reported:

A white Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound on Airport Boulevard when it entered the intersection of Mykawa Road and struck a maroon Freightliner 18-wheeler.  Witnesses at the scene stated the Impala entered the intersection and ran a red light.  The front passenger in the Impala was pronounced dead.  Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in this crash.

The investigation is continuing.
