Fatal Traffic Accident at 9500 Old Galveston Road

September 15, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 9500 block of Old Galveston Road about 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 14). 

The identity of the deceased male victim, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A second male victim, 29, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital with minor injuries.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Wilson and Officer J. Ortiz reported: 

The driver of a white Chevrolet Express van was traveling north on Old Galveston Road when he struck two pedestrians walking on the east shoulder of the roadway. 

The driver of the van was questioned and released at the scene.  Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this accident. 

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
