Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5602 Ridgeway

October 28, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5602 Ridgeway about 12:50 a.m. today.

The male victim, 30, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Tyler and Senior Police Officer S. Straughter reported:

The victim was found shot in the driver's seat of a gold, four-door Lexus. Further investigation determined he had been traveling southbound in the 7800 block of Sharondale when he was shot from outside the vehicle. The vehicle came to a rest in the yard of a residence at 5602 Ridgeway.

At this time, there are no known suspects.
