Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 7000 Long
October 11, 2010 - Houston police are invesigating a fatal traffic accident in the 7000 block of Long about 2:35 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 10).
The female victim, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Brown reported:
The victim was driving a black Nissan Altima eastbound in the 7000 block of Long when she failed to maintain a single lane and went up on the curb on the west side of the street. The front of the vehicle struck a fence post. The impact rotated the vehicle, causing the driver's side to strike the metal fence and then a second fence post.
