Fatal Traffic Accident at 1550 Dixie Farm Road

November 29, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1550 Dixie Farm Road about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 27).

A male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A second male victim, 31, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Shaw and Officer T. Carter reported:

The driver of a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Dixie Farm Road when, while attempting to pass a Nissan Frontier, the Ford struck the pickup truck.  The driver of the Explorer lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll over and eject both the driver and the passenger.  The Ford's driver died at the scene and the passenger was transported to the hospital.  The driver of the Nissan was not injured and called police from a nearby convenience store before returning to the scene.
