Investigation into Incident at 12179 Huntington Venture

November 12, 2010 - ****NOTE: Correction on identification of deceased male****

Houston police are investigating the death of a woman and apparent suicide of a man at 12179 Huntington Venture about 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 10).  

The deceased woman, identified as Jan Lim, also known as Jaranya Kanjanavatkoon, 59, of the above address, suffered multiple blunt force trauma wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The deceased male, identified as Keovixay Sydavong, 46, of the above address, was also found deceased in the residence. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer S. Anderson and Officer J. Harvey reported: 

A relative went to Sydavong's residence to check on him since he had not been answering the telephone.  The relative and a co-worker used a spare key, entered the residence and found Sydavong deceased in the living room.  Both men then called police.  Patrol officers responded to the scene and found Ms. Lim deceased in the bedroom.  A hatchet, possibly the murder weapon, was recovered at the scene.  

Further investigation and witness statements determined that Sydavong and Lim were having domestic issues and Sydavong was suicidal.
