Fatal Traffic Accident at 3100 Eastex Freeway Service Road

November 5, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3100 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 11 a.m. today (Nov. 5).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Senior Police Officer S. Boone reported:

The victim was driving a black Suzuki Grand Vitara southbound on the Eastex Freeway service road when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle struck the curb on the entrance ramp to the freeway and then a freeway support pillar.  The driver was killed on impact.

There were no other known persons or vehicles involved in the accident.  The investigation is continuing.
