Fatal Traffic Accident at 800 East Freeway

November 1, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 800 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 9 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 30).

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer G. Weinschrieder reported:

The victim was operating a black Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed while westbound on the East Freeway.  The motorcyclist lost control, struck a concrete barrier and fell off the overpass, landing in a parking lot below the freeway.
