Fatal Traffic Accident at 14100 South Main
May 17, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 14100 block of South Main (U.S. Highway 90) about 6:15 a.m. on Sunday (May 16).
A female victim, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. A male driver, 17, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Both victims’ identifications are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute for Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Calley and Officer B. Banks reported:
The driver of a silver Toyota Avalon was traveling south on South Main when he failed to maintain a single lane and crossed over the grassy median and into oncoming traffic. He struck a green Jeep Patriot head-on and then struck a silver Honda Civic. The driver of the Toyota was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
