Fatal Shooting at 2020 Leeland May 3, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile male and wounding of a man at 2020 Leeland about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday (May 1). The deceased victim, Jaylon Calloway, 14, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male, 18, was shot in the thigh and treated and released from an area hospital. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers T. Miller and S. Anderson reported: Two groups of individuals got into a verbal altercation during a party at a nightclub involving teenagers. The argument turned into a fistfight and then escalated into gunfire when a number of people pulled out guns and started shooting. Calloway was fatally struck and another male was wounded. Investigators were told between 700 and 1,000 people attended the party. At this time, there is no identity on the suspects involved in the incident.
