Officer Pate Ruth Shea and Ingrid

HPD officers spoke to 30 residents at Belmont Village Assisted Living t 2929 West Holcombe. The officers handed out brochures and spoke to the elderly residents on how to protect themselves at home and in public. They also answered questions and gave valuable information to the residents on preventing identity theft.

“Always be aware of your surroundings,” said HPD Senior Police Officer Barnett Pate. “And if someone wants something you have, give it to them. Your life is worth more than what you have in your hand.”

The effort was part of the Houston Police Department’s ongoing March on Crime Campaign. Working together, Houston police officers and the Houston community can “Help Keep Houston Safe.”
