Suspect Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 3900 Briarpark March 22, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 3900 Briarpark Drive about 1:55 a.m. today (Mar. 22). The suspect, Yoan Batista-Martinez (H/m, DOB: 8-22-83), is charged with manslaughter in the 178th State District Court. The identities of the two deceased victims, a male, 38, and a female, 24, are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S.A. Wilson and Officer D. Brown reported: Batista-Martinez was driving a black, four-door Dodge sedan north on Briarpark Drive at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crossed the southbound lanes of traffic and struck a business. A male and female inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Batista-Martinez and two other male passengers in the vehicle were transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
