Fatal Traffic Accident at 1600 Holmes Road March 16, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1600 block of Holmes Road about 2:55 p.m. on Monday (March 15). The male victim, 60, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant N. A. Perry and Officer R. D. Davidson reported: The driver of a silver Nissan Infiniti, with three passengers, was traveling eastbound on Holmes Road and attempted to pass another vehicle on the left. The driver saw another vehicle headed towards him, veered to the right onto the shoulder and then landed upside down in a ditch on the south side of the road. A rear seat passenger (the victim) was removed from the vehicle by HFD personnel. The driver, his wife, 32, (front seat passenger) and two children, two and 12 years of age (back seat passengers), were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
